Technical activities:  Organize and carry out treatments with team members in a professional manner. Keep updated on the new drugs, with manufacturer’s indications, regarding their usage, dosage calculations and administration and storage.  Lead a mobile veterinary team in carrying out treatments of affected livestock in the villages. Ensure proper identification of diseases using anamnesis and clinical methods before providing treatments. Monitor the effects of drugs used on livestock, identify any effects and report to the Project Manager.Extension services: Educate the livestock owners on the intervention-(objectives, implementation plans, importance of disease control, etc. Exchange knowledge with communities about the best ways of improving veterinary service delivery in their respective areas. Sensitize and Mobilize communities in villages where treatments are planned for to prepare and to present their animals for treatments at sites agreed with the team members. Ensure that the drugs received by beneficiary through the voucher are worth the value of the voucher.Supervision: Provides the overall leadership of the Veterinary personnel on the project in the respective area. Ensure that COOPI’s policies and guidelines are adhered to during implementation process.Reporting:  Field reports –regarding number of animals treated and households reached- submitted to Livestock Officer on weekly basis-every Saturday; through e-mail, or telephone.  Record and report all treatments (Technical reports) on data sheets provided by COOPI only. In case of emergency, the PO-Vet. or his appointed team member reports the matter to District Team Leader/ Field Coordinator and then to Project Manager.  Report any strange disease/outbreak reported by livestock owners to the Project Manager (Livestock) and /or SAHSP for further investigations.Accountability: Ensure that all drugs supplied to the beneficiaries are of the quality described in the requisition order. Ensure that treatment is carried out without any additional cost on the livestock owner. Able to account for all drugs in line with type of diseases, size and number of animals treated. Ensure that all drugs supplied are verified by the village chairman and vouchers duly signed before reimbursement is made. Qualifications  Holder of a Veterinary Technical Degree/Diploma with three years of technical veterinary training / course from a recognized veterinary institute;  Must be recognized and registered by the Professional Livestock /Veterinary Association of the region- SOWELPA Somalia;  Must have at least one to three years’ experience of working with the INGO, in a similar position;  Must be Somali national with clear knowledge of the region of operation;
